~~~eXaM fEvEr pArT 2!!!~~~
Yes! Its the time fo the trimester AGAIN! Time to get stressed over exams again. I thought after the stock take I could take a break but to realised that I was busy rushing for assignments, preparing for test and now exams. To make things worst, frustrations build up with the poor administration and management from the school. There were some nights when I almost wanted to get out of bed to write them a super complain email and ask for refund. Honestly they are giving me the excuse to give up. As it is, the determination is already weakening. I really feel like walking up to them and ask for the refund of the remaining of my course fees and stop everything now. Sighhh....
Anyway I dun think much about the grades now. I'm not even sure if I could clear all the papers this trimester. Just got back my OTB individual assignment and I must say that I am so proud to have scored a 10/20 after being marked down by the Australian lecturer from 13/20. 80% of my classmates failed. I heard some got as low as only 2/20. Again the point that I am making is not on whether should marking be strict or is referencing important and should it constitute to failing an assignment if not done properly. We had loads of assignments last trimester and in all the course outline then, similar instructions were given about referencing BUT it was not enforced and highlight even when it was not done correctly. In fact we were not marked for referencing and I believe some didn't even have any. I scored a pass with credit and 2 distinctions out of the 3 modules I took. Now the lecturers are saying that instructions were very clear in the course outline and referencing is part of the assignment and it will constitute to a failure if not done correctly. First of all, personally I was never training or taught how to done referencing. All I knew was to give credit to books and authours that we took materials from. Never in my school life, I was taught referencing. At least during my era. Secondly, if it was so important why was it not enforce during the first trimester so that everyone start off with the right footing.
I totally agree and understand why referencing is important. I do not agree though that failure to provide proper referencing should constitute to a failure BUT I was willing to accept and learn from my mistakes and be a 'teachable' student. However, methods of referencing by different lecturers seem to differ. Bottomline is, I want to learn, so teach me correctly. When I wanna learn something I ask and make sure that I understand. Isn't that the fundamental of learning? Readers of this particular blog entry, please feel free to comment and give me your reasons why u may choose to disagree with me.
Yes! The bloody stock take is finally over! I can finally take a break and knock off on time. Since nobody has said it, I will........I think I did a bloody great job for the stock take and I think I did the best I could. If no one is, I am proud of myself! :P
Managed to get off on time yesterday. Went to town to collect Jon's phone with pf before meeting my precious darling. Had a great dinner at Cartel and spent some quality time with my buddy. Went to catch Miss Congeniality 2 after dinner and the movie was really funny lor. Haven't had a good laugh for a long time liao. Headed home after the movie.
Slept till about 10.30am before I was awaken by the noisy grass cutter downstairs. I slept enough I guess. Took my Off-in-lieu today and I'm going to be productive by going to the library to do some research later. Meanwhile I am just nuaring around. :P
